Police Patrolman

The City of Bayard is accepting applications for the position of a full-time Police Patrolman.  Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and certification as a police officer by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy is required. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  Applicant must possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license.  Applicant must be free of physical impairments that would prevent performance of duties. Applicants will undergo thorough background investigations, interviews and psychological testing, as well as a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.  Fringe benefits include annual and sick leave, group health insurance and PERA retirement.  

Applicants are required to undergo a pre-employment drug and alcohol test; physical medical examination and criminal background checks.
